ABOUT ICE & SNOW PREVENTION

Ezeheat Ice and Snow clearance systems ensure that you can walk and drive safely on paths, drives and parking areas during the winter. Ezeheat ice and snow melting system operates fully automatically. It detects the need for the heating system to energise and fully protect the area covered by the Ezeheat heating system. Safe walking, driving and working areas.

The Problem

Snow build-up or ice formation on ramps or entrance ways pose a danger to vehicles and can prevent access. Similarly, snow or ice on paths or stairways creates a pedestrian hazard.

Access is often critical. Ramps serving car parks in industrial retail premises, shopping malls, hotels, and businesses must be kept clear. Entrances to hospitals and similar establishments must be accessible at all times.

Salt or chemical de-icer application or mechanical clearing, although potentially harmful, may be acceptable for non-critical surfaces having only occasional problems. Critical surfaces should be provided with a reliable automatic solution to the problem.

Snow that has built up on a roof will start to melt as a result of either exposure to the sun, or from heat rising from the building below. As the melted snow runs from the roof into cold gutters and drainpipes, it can re-freeze forming layers of ice which can continue to build up until the flow is blocked. This can result in damaged drains and gutters. Water can, in addition, get into the roof and building, leading to expensive structural damage such as broken roof tiles, damaged plaster, facades, etc.

The Solution

Ezeheat in-slab armored heating cable is automatic, environmentally friendly, applies heat only when necessary (moisture & minus temperatures), and provides the most practical solution. It prevents ice from forming on cold surfaces and melts snowfalls.

The complete system is available from one shop. The Ezeheat system comprises the armored heating cable unit, terminations, temperature control unit, fixing tape for the surface fitting, splice and tee kits, and electrical junction boxes. System design and installation are easy - even for inexperienced electricians, however, Ezeheat is always here to advise, please contact us.

Ezeheat has the solution in the form of Roof, Gutter, and Downpipe Trace Heating systems. The self-regulating characteristics of the heating cable mean that the cable can adjust its heat output in accordance with its temperature. It cannot overheat or burnout, even when overlapped. A GutterTrace system is easy to design and install. The cable is laid on the roof lower level (say 1/2 to 1 metre), along the gutters, and down drainpipes (as shown in the application guide) to keep water flowing freely.

Gutter Trace Heating– Installation

The design and installation of a GutterTrace Heating system are simple as there are no fixed lengths. The heating tape can be cut to length during installation. Ezeheat Gutter Trace Heating Kits can be supplied in specific lengths and placed in the gutter. The heating tape is suspended in the downpipe without the need for spacers. All systems - from the simplest to the most elaborate - use exactly the same components, thereby providing maximum flexibility and ease of design.
